Dr. Nogueira is graduated in Pharmacy and Biochemistry by the “Universidade Federal de Juiz de Fora”, Brazil, where he initiate his research studies with medicinal plants and extracts to discover antimicrobial and anti-inflammatory biocompounds. During his Master in Pharmaceutical Sciences at the University of São Paulo, Brazil, he advanced in chromatography techniques to isolate anti-inflammatory and natural products to treat renal stones and developed a pharmaceutical solid formulation from plant extracts. As a DAAD fellow at the University of Münster, Germany, where he obtained his PhD in Pharmaceutical Biology, he developed a new strategy to streamline the discovery of bioactive compounds from plants combining plant LC-MS metabolic profiling, chemometric analysis, RMN analysis and chemoinformatic tools. As a Postdoc at the TU Dortmund, Germany, he worked on the hit- and lead- finding stages of the drug development, and created Machine Learning models to built a Target Prediction framework based on Docking and chemical libraries, where he developed strong skills in small molecules Virtual Screening, Molecular Modeling, Machine Learning and SVMs. With latest experience in a Clinical Research Organization (CRO), he has developed strong knowledge on Clinical Studies and Pharmacovigilance of medicines in different clinical phases. Dr. Nogueira is completing our team at PMCR as a versatile Pharmacist with a broader perspective on several aspects of the pre-clinical and clinical phases in the development of new medicines.
